Anthony Cowan ACA

Having started my career with Deloitte in Leeds, I joined the practice in 2008 as a junior. I qualified in 2010 and assisted in the management of Michael Marks’ portfolio of clients before being appointed as a partner in January 2018.

I am currently the firm’s training partner, looking after the education and experience of all trainees, and I am also the audit compliance partner, ensuring that KBSP continues to deliver high quality audits for our audit clients.

Whilst I now have experience in many different areas of practice, I have become particularly involved in the use of technology as part of a finance function for businesses and this has led me to working very closely on the processes and applications surrounding efficient cloud bookkeeping (primarily but not exclusively with Xero) as well as becoming de facto financial controller for a tech start up client. Exposure in these areas has naturally led me to becoming the in-house expert at KBSP in Research & Development claims on behalf of clients.

Outside of the office, my main interests are my daughters as well as chess, darts, philosophy and a wide range of charity fundraising and community support.
